Committees & Councils

MBA is proud to offer its membership with various Committees & Councils to establish new networking opportunities along with developing business strategies.

Remodelors ™ Council: Provides a forum for the remodelers and associates in our association to present issues and programs. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at sponsor locations at 6:00 pm. Dues for this council are $80.00 (split between RC, MBA and NAHB).

Design Professionals Council: This Council works to bring greater value to its members through effective education programs and opportunities to interact and network with those in the industry. Meetings will held the 2nd Thursday of each month.

Legislative Strategy Committee (LSC): Monitors and recommends legislative positions at local, state, and federal levels. Works on the local lobbying effort. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

Membership Committee: Responsible for all matters relative to membership recruitment, retention drives and contests. The committee meets the third Tuesday of each month prior to the General Membership Dinner meetings.

Spike Committee: Operates within the Membership Committee working on planning, recognizing and awarding Spike Club members for their recruitment efforts. Meetings are held in conjunction with the Membership Committee meetings on the third Tuesday of each month immediately before the General Membership dinners.

Public Relations Committee: Provides support for other MBA committees and enhances public awareness of the MBA as a major contributor to the county. Meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the Month at 3pm at the MBA office.

MBA Forum: The purpose of this forum is to improve coordination, provide information, and discuss issues of interest to both city and county development officials and the industry. Meetings are held the first Quarterly

President's Ball Committee: Responsible for the annual President's Ball & Installation of Officers. The committee meetings beginning in September on a monthly basis and finishes after the banquet in December.

Tour of Remodeled Homes Committee: Responsible for organizing the tour, to be held October 1-2. Meetings are in conjunction with the monthly Remodelors ™ Council.

Affordable Housing Council: The political action committee for the MBA, the AHC, is not a part of the association: it is a separate group responsible for raising its own funds to endorse legislators who support the building industry. Meetings are held at the discretion of the chair.

Targeting Real Connections Sponsorship Campaign: MBA Members will compete for cash and prizes as they embark on raising funds for the MBA 2006 budget year. This non-dues revenue campaign allows our members to sponsor over 100 different events, publications and programs. This is a dedicated and motivated group of individuals.

Sales and Marketing Council: Organized to further professionalism in the home building industry by providing top-notch sales and marketing education, recognition, programs and the opportunity to exchange ideas with the ultimate goal to help builders sell more new homes. Dues for SM Council is $80.00

Membership Retention Committee: Working specifically on retention, this committee meets once a month at the MBA office on the first Wednesday at Noon to encourage current members to continue their investment in their business and this association.

Parade of New Homes: Members of this committee are responsible for this scattered site tour of new homes. This event takes place in June, meetings begin in February.
